How to optimize Path of Exile performance?
It is unanimous among all Path of Exile players that this is a heavy game. In fact, most of the complaints about the game involve this fact: the graphics are not very good, but it is still a game that runs slowly. There is a lot of lag, spikes, even if you have a PC with a little more than the minimum requirements.
The worst thing is that there are practically no ways to optimize the game simply by changing settings in the internal menus. The most the player can do is change the graphics from medium to high and vice versa. The problem is that many players complain that the medium is not able to eliminate the crashes if you have a weak PC.
So there are two things you can do. The first one is the one that will require more work and more money. According to what we've found, the most efficient way to optimize Path of Exile is to put an SSD in your PC. With a computer that offers the minimum requirements, but with an SSD it already greatly reduces lag problems. So much so that players with the recommended settings but without an SSD can't play without crashing.
Finally, what can alleviate the problem is an external change to the game. All you have to do is go to "C:UsersYOUR_USERDocumentsMy GamesPath of Exile". In this folder there will be a specific file, "Production_Config", which is responsible for setting configuration parameters.
In this file you need to find the "texture_quality=". Next to the equal sign will be the number "1". This represents that the game's graphics are at medium level. If you change it to 0, they will be on high. What is possible is to increase this value to 3. Several players have tested this tactic and proved its efficiency. You will see that the graphics will be much less than you would like, however it will considerably reduce the problems with crashes.
