League of Legends Wild Rift: see all Links and their rules!

Wild Rift has a similar Elos system, but with several important differences from League of Legends on PC. So if you're already addicted to ranked, check out the full list of Elos in the game below and then the detailed explanation of how they work!

It's the initial "Link" of the game, where you start before unlocking ranked matches.

Provisional

Upon reaching level 10, you unlock ranked matches and receive a temporary Link. From that point on, you'll need to play 10 matches ranked to receive your starting Ultimate Link. The more matches you win among these 10, the higher your starting Elo will be, and cannot go beyond Gold I.

Gems, Fortitude and Victory Points

Gems

Gems are the crystals that surround your Link. You gain 1 Gem for each victory and lose 1 Gem for each defeat. If you lose all Gems, you will be demoted from Division or Elo. The only cases where you don't lose Gem in defeats are:

  • In Interim Rank matches, where you earn 2 gems for a win and don't lose any for a loss.
  • In Iron and Bronze ranks.

Fortitude

Fortitude is an extra score you get based on your match performance, winning streak, active participation (not going AFK), etc. Each Link has a specific Fortitude value which, when hit, grants you an extra Gem. Also, if you have enough points, they will be deducted to prevent you from losing Gems in case of defeats. The exact values are in the Elos list shown above.

victory points

Victory Points replace the Gem system from Master Link to Challenger. As in the PC version of League of Legends, these points are calculated based on several factors, especially the skill level of the players involved in the match. There is still no clear information on the amount of points needed to advance or fall from Elo.

How to advance from Elo

To advance from one Link to the next, it is necessary for you to reach Division I and then secure the maximum number of Gems through victories or Fortitude. By doing so, you will be placed in a series of promotion matches, with requirements that vary depending on your Elo:

  • Iron and Bronze:

    • Win 2 matches: Elo promotion, 1 Gem, and 1 Demotion Protection
    • Losing 3 matches: remains on the same Elo and loses 2 Gems
  • Silver to Diamond:
    • Win 3 matches: Elo promotion, 1 Gem, and 1 Demotion Protection
    • Losing 3 matches: remains on the same Elo and loses 2 Gems

Demotion Protection is a way to prevent a player who has just arrived at Elo from being demoted again. It allows you to take up to 2 losses that would normally demote you. In the third, if you don't have Gems, you'll need to go back to the previous Link and go through the promotion series again.
