How to enter codes in GTA 5 on PS4, Xbox One, PC, Xbox 360 and PS3
GTA 5 brought some new ways to enter cheats, in addition to the good old chew button control codes. On consoles, you can enter these control codes, or alternatively, pull out your in-game cell phone to dial a number that activates the code.
On PC you can do any of these things and also use console commands - the commands are actually the words spelled out by the phone numbers, which is a nice touch (giving you things like 1-999-LAWYERUP). Here's a quick rundown of how to enter code on each platform.
How to enter codes in GTA 5 on PS4, Xbox One, PC, Xbox 360 and PS3
- PS4 and PS3 – Follow the instructions of the buttons in the tables below on the controller, or press Up to open the cell phone and call the respective number.
- Xbox One e Xbox 360 – Follow the instructions of the buttons in the tables below on the remote or press Up to open the cell phone and call the respective number.
- PC – Follow the button instructions in the tables below on the controller, or press the Up key to call the cell phone and call the respective number, or press the key to the left of 1 on the keypad (¬ in the UK or ~ on a US keypad ) to use console commands. Remember to use all capital letters and press Enter when done.
There's a decent range of cheats available for GTA 5 players, but it's worth noting that some classics are missing - there's no way to create a tank for yourself, for example, and no official real money cheats (despite what many people will Tell you ); there's only one cheat for weapons, as opposed to the two GTA 4 weapon-focused cheats for example, and there's only a short list of vehicles you can get your hands on.
Otherwise, there are a few final things to keep in mind: first, you won't be able to unlock achievements or trophies, or get anything other than a Bronze rating on quests, in a session where cheats have been activated. Second, all of these cheats are purely offline only - cheats are disabled in GTA Online, due to the pretty obvious interrupt effect they would have otherwise!

Xbox 360 and Xbox One cheats work the same way as on PlayStation platforms: you can enter them anytime in offline mode using the controller inputs listed below or by dialing the cell phone numbers listed next to them.
The only thing to note is that the buttons don't always line up exactly with their PlayStation equivalents - just because you have, say, the Invincibility cheat burned into your muscle memory on one platform doesn't mean it's the same buttons on the other. . Check the list below if in doubt!

GTA 5 code: PC console commands and cell phone cheat code list
As we mentioned above, PC cheats work a little differently than their console counterparts. You can still use a controller to input them – we’ve used the Xbox button names below, as this is the most popular PC gamepad choice – but otherwise, the main ways to input them are via your cell phone. (again, bring it into the game and dial the numbers below to use the cheats), or alternatively, you can use console commands.
To open console commands in GTA, press the “~” key on US keyboards or the “¬” key on UK keyboards (whichever is in the upper left corner of the keyboard, under the Esc key and to the left of the 1 ) Then just type the corresponding command as it appears (ie in capital letters) in the table below, and hit enter to activate the cheat.
