Increasing FPS if LoL means increasing PC or laptop performance in League of Legends matches. In this article we brought you 10 ways to improve your machine's performance when playing Lolzinho! These are simple tips that can reduce crashes and make the game more fluid.
1. Play without any other programs open
It doesn't matter that it's just Word that is open: it consumes your PC's memory and processing power. So make sure you close all programs running in the background, even if they are offline, like a music player. The ones that consume the most computer power, by the way, are:
- Torrent programs
- Browsers, especially Google Chrome
- WhatsApp Application
2. Cool down the PC's internal components
Games like LoL consume a lot of power from the entire PC, especially the video card. If we are talking about a notebook, this is even more common. This generates heat in the internal components of the machine. In order not to have a complete shutdown, the power of the computer in general is reduced. That is: the FPS will decrease in the middle of the game out of nowhere.
To resolve this you can:
- Place the CPU or notebook on icy or ventilated surfaces
- Install external support fans on both CPU and notebook.
NOTE: Do not use compressed air on the computer, as this can permanently damage the video card.
3. Reduce the graphical part of LoL

Depending on the power of your machine, this will be an unavoidable solution. If you can't get a computer with better graphics and RAM performance, you'll have to choose between graphics and FPS.
To reduce graphics, you must start a game and click ESC. The options will open and you should click on "Video". Some tweaks will become available, and now it's up to you to decide the best setup. You can leave everything to a minimum or test to see how to have reasonable graphics, without losing so much in performance.
The settings are:
- Shades
- Quality of effects
- Environmental quality
- character quality
4. Repair corrupt LoL files
This is customary and recommended by Riot Games itself. On the game login screen there is this option, when starting the game client. Select the settings, which are on the gear-like icon. In "General", now have the game perform a full repair of all files.
This is important because quite often some secondary files can get corrupted, causing LoL itself to slow down the PC's performance.
NOTE: You can always close the game client before playing, as this also helps give PC performance.
5. Put Windows on full power
If you play on Windows, one more option is to put the operating system at maximum performance:
- Right click on the computer and go to "Properties"
- Select "Advanced System Settings"
- Select the "Advanced" tab
- Click on the settings under "Performance"
- Enter "Adjust for best performance"
- Click on advanced and select the best performance of the programs
6. Remove all animations from Windows
Removing native Windows animations will make the operating system much cleaner and cleaner, which helps your computer to focus better on your game. For this you must:
- Go to "Adjust appearance" in the "Control Panel"
- On the screen that will open, on the "Visual Effects" tab click to get maximum performance
7. Disable Game Mode and Game Bar
The Game Bar and Game Mode are useful if you want to play streaming games or even if you just want to record your games to look at later. If you just want to focus on playing, then disable these features, as they are useless to get maximum performance in LoL.
Search for "Game Mode" on the Windows launch bar and search for "Game Mode Settings". On the next screen, just disable Game Mode. On this same screen you will find the Game Bar. Click on it and disable it too!
8. Optimize Your Startup
Go to the Windows start bar, type "msconfig" and hit Enter. In the window that will open, select the "Startup" tab and then "Advanced options":
In the next window, select the maximum number that appears in the "Number of processors" tab and then click "Ok":
Returning to the previous window, go to the "Services" tab and check the "Hide all Microsoft services" box. Now uncheck all the programs that you don't use, finishing with a click on "Ok":
9. Unlock the computer's maximum power plan
In the Start Menu search bar, search for "Choose a power plan" and select "Maximum Performance" on the next screen, as shown in the image below:
What to do if the "Maximum performance" option does not appear
The "Maximum Performance" option may not appear. If this happens, type "cmd" in the Windows Start Menu search bar. Right click on "Command Prompt" and select "Run as administrator":
In the Command Prompt, copy and paste the following code: powercfg -duplicatescheme e9a42b02-d5df-448d-aa00-03f14749eb61
If all goes well, the following message will appear: "Power Scheme GUID: ee64ee27-468a-4a62-ba0d-74606d1b6a6c (Maximum Performance)". Restart the PC. The option of "Maximum performance" will be available.
10. Increase CPU priority for League of Legends
Open League of Legends. Minimize the game and open the Task Manager, with Ctrl + Alt + Del. In the "Details" tab, look for the LoL launcher task. Right-click, go to "Set Priority" and set it to high priority. This must be done every time you start the game.
